jjgreggsitar "Harmonics" is the perfect pairing with a sunrise or sunset. Love it on the regular! I also enjoy the weaving and overlapping pathways of title track 'Mt. Lookout.' Favorite track: Harmonics.

about

Formed in Athens, Ohio in 2021, The Peel is an instrumental trio consisting of Lucy Schwallie (fiddle,) Adam Fuller (banjo,) and David Colagiovanni (guitar.) Purposeful and lively, yet fluctuating like a natural phenomenon, their music combines elements of chamber, drone, American primitive, experimental, old-time, and folk music from the world over.

The trio infuse their compositions with warmth and clarity, playfulness and dashes of boldness. Their music commingles tradition and modernity, recalling old friends’ swirls of words feeding a jubilant and overdue catch-up. Harmony and dissonance strike up a dance that is meticulous, delicate, and mesmerizing.

Their debut full-length album Mt. Lookout was recorded in two sessions; one at Bear Wallow Hollow (the same cabin where they recorded their first EP) and the second at Disjointed Records. Both sessions were recorded live without overdubs, capturing the true spirit of their collaboration. The results showcase the trio’s ability to effortlessly circle ‘round each other’s instrumental voices, spinning and weaving their musical dialogues into sublime aural tapestries that are infused with the community and the landscapes that inspire them.
